Travelling to Rishikesh - Yoga Capital of the world

(Ganga river)

Well Rishikesh also known as Hrishikesh ,this city is located in India's northern state of Uttarakhand. This is considered as holy place as it is situated by the side of Ganges river and it is considered as the center of yoga and meditation in the world. In my recent visit to this amazing place , I found out that the people living here are full of enthusiasm and have supportive nature towards the visitor.

They treat you in a nice way, when you'll be with them you'll know for sure. The sightseeing is really really beautiful, at every place I reckon there is something going inside me ,like, something that comforts me .

While seeing the mesmerizing beauty of rishikesh, one can be astonished if he visits here .There can be hardly any word to express the beauty of it.This beauty attracts all of the pilgrims who come here for worshiping. Furthermore, I'll give you a detailed information about my trip and Rishikesh travel advice you need to have when you're travelling to this place.

When visiting first time to rishikesh you all must know that it's actually along the Riverside so naturally the temperature there remains a bit lower than usual..Me and my friend were sitting in the park and discussing about trips suddenly an idea came in my mind to visit at devotional place . Then my friend also agreed to visit there next morning we were really excited to visit such a place where we have never visited this was going to be our first and for lasting experience.

Must check out this amazing post for an epic list of Budget Yoga Retreats in India.

I wake up at 5 o' clock and peeped through the window and saw that there was a dawn and i was really very Happy to see the weather in the morning time because the sky was fully blue and there was sunshine everywhere. Then i called my friend to ask that whether he was ready or not then me and my friend decided time to leave the home. Then my friend had to come in Delhi at Cannaught place by car I reached there at 6  o'clock but still my friend did not come . I thought that my friend has  slept again. then i again called my friend ,he said that he was on the way and about to come.

As I was seeing here and there, I saw my friend in i sat in my friend's car and we were ready to leave from that place. After long hours,we reached at Roorkee because there was nothing everywhere except traffic jam.we were saying to each other that all travelers are going to Rishikesh. After reaching Roorkee,we decided to have some meal because we were really very hungry and didn't take breakfast in morning because of enthusiasm.

After that we reached Rishikesh in a matter of 2 hours, as we both were tired of all that journey we have decided to do some rest for the day and start exploring the beauty of rishikesh from the next day. We could not wait too long to go out and see the beauty of rishikesh that's why the day seemed to be going too long for both of us. We have booked rooms for us in a nearby hotel and that was surely a great place to have a stay there.

Lakshman Jhula

And here comes the next day, the day we were waiting for too long . In Rishikesh nearby tourist attractions are mainly Lakshman Jhula, Triveni Ghat, Neelkantha Mahadeva Temple, Tera Manzil temple. So we have chosen our first place to visit and it was non other than Lakshman Jhula as stated. Basically, Lakshman Jhula is a hanging bridge situated across the Ganga River connecting two villages. It is 450 ft long and at height of 70 feet from the river this bridge is 7 km from the City Center. There are some mythological words connected to this bridge. It is said that the Lord Lakshman the younger brother of Lord Rama, had crossed the river Ganga at this place.

Footloose Dev also got a great travel guide of Rishikesh! Check it out

Coming back to the time we've spent there , after reaching the place we were amazed to see the public there , it was highly rushed at that time. Everybody was busy clicking their pictures etc. We have also captured some of our moments . The Bridge was indeed very massive and was highly captivating What a cherishing moment that was..
Tera Manzil Temple

At the opposite side of Lakshman Jhula there stands the Tera Manzil Temple also known as Trimbakeshwar Temple , it is a Thirteen storey temple situated at the bank of river ganga. The architecture of this Temple is splendid in real terms and the view from the Top of its 13th floor would be really kind of magical. This temple got so much too offer us. We are taking some time to actually feel that particular interval of time we are spending because everything that is happening around us was so much beautiful , I can't take my eyes off it.

Ganga Aarti

Our whole day was spent there wandering and capturing the life of people around there. At the evening, we have already planned to attend the Ganga Aarti at Triveni Ghat which happens every evening at the Bank of River Ganga. The Ganga Aarti was very Holy and it had brought great feelings in our heart. The whole day was so amazing, it had brought us so much cheer. At night we have a thought of Camping and we've contacted one of the dealers out there who had provided camps to us. The price of our camps was 1800 INR , all foods and snacks included in it. One more interesting thing they provided to us is the indulged Rafting package for the two of us. We had spent much of our night sitting in front of the Bonfire and talking about funny moments of ours. That night was one of a kind.

Camping Site

The next Day we woke up and planned our whole day we are about to do Rafting and Eating foods in the local. After eating the food that is provided to us by the Head of Camps we started to leave for the place where the rafting is going to happen which is far from that camping site. So, at approx 10:00 in the morning, we were all ready to do Rafting and we're all equipped with all the essentials. My pal was a bit afraid of water but all of that Rafting thing went quite well and amusing. If I was asked for my best moment of all I would definitely choose the Rafting moment as my first priority. It was full of thrill and a hell lot of fun.

River Rafting
We have also done cliff jumping after Rafting and it had added a bit of pleasure to our time spent there. For all the readers, i must tell that this is something that you must try when visiting rishikesh after this, there is no need to worry about the water as a lot of people have the fear of water i.e Aqua phobia but it all takes place under the supervision and also life jacket is there to help you. As you all know, after doing such kind of activities food is the immediate next thing we want. So we both headed towards the local street food because it's good to take a taste of local food when going somewhere out for a trip. The food we ate was really delicious and mouth watering. Indeed we ate double the amount of food we usually ate because the hunger we are experiencing at that time was unbearable and i don't know why.

The next place we are heading towards is Neelkantha Mahadeva Temple, it is very well known Temple located at 32 km from Rishikesh, situated on the hill at the height of 1330 meters. It lies above Swargashram by the side of Narayan Mountain Range, one can reach there with the help of Taxi as it is well connected by road. The architecture of this Temple is very fascinating for the visitors. We were there for a while but that little time we spent there was something to be remembered later. The weather up there was very pleasant and lower as I said earlier.
Neelkantha Mahadeva Temple

We visited our camp side to take our bags and other stuffs and we are heading Back to Delhi.

Overall, It was a Great Trip. Travelling to Rishikesh has always been a Dream to me and yes I have made it real. As a traveller, I Love to be close with Nature.
